This spring, I competed at the Connecticut DECA State Competition in the “Financial Team Decision Making” category. Despite entering one of the most technical events without years of prior experience in finance, my partner and I placed second, qualifying for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC). Reaching the podium took dedication, creativity, and a willingness to learn quickly. This experience deepened both my passion for numbers and my confidence in tackling unfamiliar challenges.
Competing in DECA taught me that success doesn't require a perfect start, it requires commitment. It also revealed a new goal: helping others reach their fullest potential, regardless of the resources they have. In Financial Team Decision Making, I played the role of a financial advisor, analyzing complex scenarios and guiding clients on how to invest wisely and use their financial resources strategically. Through this process, I gained a better understanding of what it means to turn financial strain into financial freedom, and more importantly, how to communicate that path clearly and confidently to others.
Moving forward, I want to turn these roleplays into real-world impact. I recognize that many people lack access to quality financial education, and I hope to create programs that not only teach essential financial skills but also provide the tools and support needed for long-term success. I believe financial stability should be accessible to all, and I want to be a part of the solution.
That's why I see Ayos as such an important step in my journey. With its mission to simplify financial learning and provide accessible tools, Ayos offers the chance to transform my DECA experiences into tangible solutions that empower others. I'm especially excited by the opportunity to develop features that help users make informed financial decisions, whether through intuitive budgeting tools, clear investment guidance, or personalized learning paths.
Ayos represents more than just a platform, it's a chance to turn ideas into meaningful change. I'm eager to contribute to this forward-thinking environment, grow as both a creator and a problem-solver, and help ensure that financial literacy and empowerment are within reach for everyone.
